Since 1872, Royal Dirkzwager has provided connections in and around the port of Rotterdam rapidly, reliably, and unconditionally, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Royal Dirkzwager is known as the "Maritime Information & Service Provider" for North West Europe. This requires an in depth knowledge of the maritime-logistics world and keep-in-step with the demands of modern shipping. Royal Dirkzwager now handles approximately 90.000 ship movements around the port of Rotterdam per year as well as all ship information in the Gibraltar/Skagen range and increasingly beyond. We gather, process and deliver valuable data and information by means of modern communication techniques and personal attention.
In recent decades Royal Dirkzwager has expanded its scope of activities with a Nautical Service desk for Vessel Tracking Routing Services, a global "vessel alert" monitoring service that ensures 24/7 response in case of emergencies or maritime contingencies to ship owners. Royal Dirkzwager also provides vessel monitoring and information analysis services to Dutch maritime authorities.
Today the North West European shipping community is being served around the clock with the latest information on vessel positions, vessel movements and other relevant information. This information can be obtained by our reporting department and through our various customized Internet applications e.g. Ship2Report, Ship4Terminal and PortCall. In addition Royal Dirkzwager offers online ship characteristics of the entire merchant marine world fleet for management- and marketing purposes. Advanced telecommunication networks and maritime resource planning applications enhance our services to the maritime community.
The Maritime and Logistic ICT department of Royal Dirkzwager supplies ICT solutions and consultancy to the Maritime & Logistic market segment. Our specific knowledge of the Maritime market guarantees a successful design and implementation. We provide our clients maintenance and support of operational systems which need to be up-and-running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
As Nautical Service Provider, Royal Dirkzwager provides a pilotage service on the North Sea and English Channel offering personal and professional knowledge and experience to the vessel's Bridge Management Team. Our pilots are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, guaranteeing the safety of the ship and the environment and provide as a supplement to the navigational staff communication assistance to the port authorities. In addition our pilots also render "Vessel Traffic Services" on board of platforms, pipe-laying and trenching barges, survey-vessels and ships of the Dutch Coast Guard, both on the Dutch Continental Shelf, as well as in the English Channel.
