WebAgent
A complete web based administration package for the shipping agent
Dirkzwager's WebAgent application has been developed as a web-based application and assists in the administrative needs of an agent handling his port calls, by creating dossiers in an electronic archive. DirkPortCall is, as opposed to other PortCall Systems developed by Royal Dirkzwager, designed especially for use in your specific port. Therefore all the rules, costs and regulations for your port are built in as well as interfaces to all port-community players in accordance with the local standards.
Of course the Dirkzwager WebAgent application interfaces with the Dirkzwager PortMan system of the port authority or any other Port Management system. This avoids re-entering data for the shipping agent.
Because every shipping agent uses his own standards, WebAgent supports templates which makes it easy for the agent to design his own layout for all specific documents.
Information exchange with third parties such as customs, port authorities, port community systems etc., is supported through EDI, XML, Fax or email.
Technique
The WebAgent application is developed in HTML and ColdFusion. Server side an Intel Based server with Linux, MySQL and ColdFusion suffices. At the client side no specific hardware nor software is needed. Any PC, Apple or Intel based with a standard web browser, Internet Explorer or other, is sufficient.
Summary
- Notifications to the Port authorities, Customs and Seaport Police, e.g. all IMO FAL forms and pre-arrival information;
- Messages to third parties (principals, captain, shipping companies, terminal operators, etc.), e.g. Dirkzwager's "message to a vessel", SoF and DA;
- Re-use of data. All information, like an ETA, is entered only once but can be used for all operations and procedures regarding a specific port call and her movements;
- Creating your own document templates. By using DirkPortCall you can create a user-defined document lay-out, which is especially useful for the SoF;
- Port calculator (Paid option)
The integrated port calculator enables you to calculate the harbour dues, especially useful for the DA.
