Web Based information distribution platform for Port Authorities
Port Community players require accurate information on (expected) ship movements and ship positions in a port. Especially for this service, Royal Dirkzwager has designed a web-based application which controls the information flows from the Port Authority to the Port Community players.
The system provides an easy interface to design real time custom port overviews such as expected lists, arrival lists, in port lists, sailing lists and berth occupation overviews,
As all Royal Dirkzwager applications, at the client side no specific hardware or software is required, resulting in a low cost, low threshold platform for the port users.
The extensive user administration tool for the Port Authority provides in a high level of control on:
- User management
- Groups
- Information detail levels
- Subscriptions
- Costs
Technique
The Webinfo application is developed in HTML and ColdFusion. Server side an Intel Based server with Linux, MySQL and ColdFusion suffices. At the client side no specific hardware nor software is needed. Any PC, Apple or Intel based with a standard web browser, Internet Explorer or other, is sufficient.
