SSAS
SSAS service for ships regarding the ISPS code
The International Ship and Port Security Code, ISPS, stipulates that ships must have a Security Plan, a Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) and need to carry a so-called International Ship Security Certificate.
Without such a certificate a ship can not trade. Royal Dirkzwager, the Maritime Information & Service Provider and Radio Holland, maritime electronics specialist, present a unique, cost effective solution to comply with SSAS. It offers a combination of SSAS hardware, web tracking and a 24 hour response centre.
Royal Dirkzwager and Radio Holland have entered into a special co-operation in order to provide this unique solution together.
The Royal Dirkzwager/Radio Holland SSAS solution is based on a 3-tier package
1. Hardware
Radio Holland can provide Inmarsat D+, Mini-C, Inmarsat-C and Iridium SSAS equipment from renowned maritime manufacturers.
2. Security Alerting Service
In close co-operation with ship owners and Radio Holland, Royal Dirkzwager can provide a 24 hours attended focal point in order to establish a smooth settlement of SSAS messages. By using a concealed alert button, the alert will be relayed to designated authorities via a `Control Room'. Royal Dirkzwager and Radio Holland entered into a special co-operation and will provide the "Dirkzwager/Radio Holland alert service".
This service is based on a 24x7 response centre. It provides following services:
- 1st line alerting response from the vessel;
- Alerting service to security response centres as well as to pre-defined security officers and/or management staff at subscribing customers;
- Periodical reporting on systems as well as processed SSAS messages;
- Arrange for periodical testing of the total SSAS messaging without alerting rescue and security response systems.
Benefit for the ship owner is that a separate control room or department is not needed.
The owner is assured that all necessary actions are initiated immediately upon receipt of a SSAS message.
3. Tracking service Ship@Sight
In addition to the SSAS service, Radio Holland provides Internet tracking and fleet monitoring.
Summary
- 24 hours a day / 7 days a week monitoring by experienced personnel;
- The Royal Dirkzwager/Radio Holland SSAS solution is based on a 3-tier package: Hardware, 24 hours Security Alert Response Centre and a Ship@Sight tracking service;
- Immediate relay of security alerts to designated authorities and Company Security Officers (CSO);
- SSAS Service including a periodical testing of the total "alerting chain" and filtering for false alarm messages.
